In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, we at Tase Community collaborated alongside Sulla Wellness Club to host an event that embraced self-love and empowerment. “Rise to Shine: A Journey Towards Self-Empowerment” was a unique session that integrated physical and mental wellness to help participants uncover their inner strengths and challenge their negative thoughts.
The event featured a 30-minute workshop on self-empowerment, hosted by Ishna Naresh, a Developmental Psychologist and Counsellor at Tase Psychology Center, followed by an activity where we created our own set of affirmations cards. This was complemented by a 90-minute invigorating yoga session led by one of the expert instructors at Sulla Wellness Club, Ala Hofier.
Hosting this event was a wonderful opportunity that allowed us to integrate both physical and mental wellness, and shine light on a topic that might not be spoken about so often. The topic of self-empowerment was chosen to emphasize the importance of our own strength and resilience when going through the toughest circumstances. Through this workshop, our participants got to explore and identify their inner strengths and learn how to utilize them when they are at their lowest. At Tase Community, we believe that we all have the potential to improve ourselves, however, there are just times when we may need a little more support.
During Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to highlight the importance of reaching out for help and speaking to professional, if we ever need to do so. It may be difficult to remember, but you are not alone and there is always someone out there who can help you get through your darkest times. We would also like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended our event and provided us with the space to share our resources and raise awareness about the importance of mental health.
Stay tuned for our next workshop, we hope to see you there!
