This past Saturday, we had the joy of being part of Written in the Flow, a wellness event hosted by Jakarta Pilates Club. The event brought together a beautiful blend of movement, mindfulness, and reflection, and we were honored to contribute by leading a guided journaling session on the theme of self-compassion.

Led by Ishna Naresh, our journaling session created a calm, reflective space for participants to turn inward and reconnect with themselves. We began by exploring the foundations of self-compassion—what it truly means to treat yourself with the same kindness and care you would offer to a close friend. From there, we dove into the topic of the inner critic, helping participants notice the harsh self-talk that often goes unnoticed in daily life.

Through guided prompts, we encouraged a shift in perspective. Attendees were invited to gently reframe their thoughts, challenge unkind narratives, and begin celebrating their own strengths—no matter how big or small. The session closed with a powerful exercise: writing a letter of self-compassion. With pen to paper, each participant crafted a message of understanding, encouragement, and love to themselves, anchoring everything they had reflected on during the session.

There was something truly special about journaling in community, surrounded by individuals willing to pause, reflect, and show up for themselves. It was a quiet yet profound reminder that self-kindness is not only possible, but deeply necessary.

We are incredibly grateful to Jakarta Pilates Club for inviting us to be part of this meaningful experience. Thank you for creating a space that honors both body and mind—and for letting us be a part of your beautiful community.
